SWEET WHISPERS
Author: Joyce Hemsley
The river flowed
through meadows green
I saw the wild rose
white and serene.
I heard a voice
from beyond the blue
an angel from heaven
said it was you.
I lay down beneath
the rays of the sun
looked up to the sky
to talk to "my one."
The breezes blew
whispers to me
across the mountain
that leads to the sea.
The hymn you sang
was O Love Divine
I heard your sweet voice
and you heard mine.
The sun went down
in the evening sky
and I heard not a sound
Just your last goodbye.
