THE PHOTOGRAPH
Author: Joyce Hemsley
How I lived without you, I will never know.
A photo' portrays the way you were many moonbeams ago,
when in your mind you loved me well.
A beautiful dream. A fairytale.
We both felt the same in a spiritual game.
Love like wine came out of the blue.
A love divine shared between two.
To me, your portrait is worth more than gold,
taken when love was new - with time, love's grown old.
But as my hand touches your face,
my heart floats away to a far better place.
I am a lamb returning to the fold.
I'm in heaven beside you
and the miracle of our love story is retold.
How I lived without you, I will never know.
