VISITING YOU

Author: Teresa Lynn Sherry

I come to visit you
even on this cruel wintry day,
and gaze across the meadow
where, as children we would play.

And I speak to you sweetly
over the chorus of the birds.
I understand, and it's okay that
you no longer speak to me through words.

I'll be with you again,
that I know is true...
but for now it's very hard
to live my life without you.

I still feel your presence,
I think of you and feel less alone,
and with flowers in my hand,
I lay my love upon your stone.
